IPL 15 has come to an end and we all are missing it isn’t it? So why not let’s relive the IPL recently gone by to some extent and carry out a fun activity by listing out the ‘Best Foreigners Playing 11 of IPL 15’? Let’s get started!
Top Order Batsmen (Openers and #3)
–(Jos Buttler, Quinton De Kock, Aiden Markram)
You knew Jos the boss was going to be the first name in this least, didn’t you? Cause why not! Jos had an unimaginable season this time with 863 runs at an average of 57.53 and a strike rate of 149.05 hitting 4 centuries and 45 sixes. Simply insane!
It was a steal when LSG picked Quinton de Kock for 6.75cr because of the pedigree he has, everyone thought he would easily cross 8cr. QDK finished the season as the third-highest run-getter with 508 runs with an average of over 36 striking at 148.97. His knock of 140 not out off just 70 balls vs KKR is the highest individual score of this season.
Aiden Markram was a value-for-money buy for SRH. This South African powerhouse was one of the most dependable batsmen for SRH piling up 381 runs at an impressive average of 47,63 at a strike rate of 139.05. If required, he can even roll his arms for a couple of overs.
Middle Order Batsmen (#4 and #5)
–(Liam Livingstone and David Miller)
Liam Livingstone finally showed what he is capable of, the explosive English allrounder scored a total of 437 runs at a massive strike rate of 182.08 which is the third-highest, and smashed a total of 34 sixes, only behind Jos Buttler. He even picked up wickets for PBKS at some crucial junctures thereby justifying his price tag of 11.5cr.
David Miller owned that no.5 slot for GT as he turned out to be one of the heroes of this edition of the IPL. Miller played several match-winning innings, and scored a total of 481 runs at a staggering average of 68.71 which is the highest in this IPL, and at a very healthy strike rate of over 142.
Finishers (#6 and #7)
–(Shimron Hetmyer and Andre Russell)
Shimron Hetmyer was given the role of finisher by RR and he delivered it in style. On maximum occasions, he came after the 13th over but still scored a total of 314 runs at a strike rate of 153.92. His average of 44.86 shows how consistent he was, just exactly what you need from a finisher.
Russell justified his retention completely, With 335 runs at a strike rate of 174.48 hitting 32 sixes along the way with the bat and picking up 17 wickets with the ball including 4 wickets in an over, big DreRuss or ‘Muscle Russell’ simply had to be in this team! He has yet again delivered for KKR and gave entertainment to all cricket fans.
Spinners
–(Rashid Khan and Wanindu Hasaranga)
Rashid Khan yet again had a stellar season and was one of the architects of GT’s triumph. Rashid picked up 19 wickets at a splendid economy rate of just 6.60. He even played a few great cameos with the bat, after all, who can forget the innings vs SRH? The perfect asset for T20 cricket!
Wanindu Hasaranga lived up to the hype he had created in the international arena and in the auction by picking up 26 wickets at an average of just 16.54 maintaining a healthy economy rate of 7.54. Can you imagine Rashid and Wanindu bowling in tandem?
Pacers
–(Kagiso Rabada and Josh Hazlewood)
Kagiso Rabada was at his wicket-taking best for PBKS this season as he bagged as many as 23 wickets at an average of 17.65 which any fast bowler shall accept with both hands in T20 cricket. Kagiso hit the ground running and how!
The big tall Australian fast bowler, mainly regarded as a Test specialist impressed on and all with his brilliant performance this season. Josh picked up 20 wickets at an average of 18.85. Barring 1-2 games, he was also excellent at the death.
So, all things discussed, here is the Best Foreigners Playing 11 of IPL 15 arranged in the batting order-
