- The first recorded match in England was reportedly played between a team that consisted of 11 players from different parts of England (excluding Kent) against a side of Kent based players.
- Surprisingly, England’s first overseas tour was to North America in 1859. Due to the American Civil War, they shifted tours to Melbourne in 1861.
