Pakistan’s star batsman & captain Babar Azam holds the record for scoring the fastest 5000 runs in ODI cricket and tops the list. He has scored 5000 ODI runs in just 97 matches & 99 innings. According to the statistics, Babar is one of the most successful white ball players in Pakistan.

Babar Azam is followed by former South African opener Hashim Amla known for his ‘cover drive’. He completed his 5000 ODI runs in just 104 matches & 101 innings and was one of the most elegant openers at that time.

Till date, only 5 players have completed 5000 ODI runs by playing 115 or fewer innings. The toppers in the list comprise players from India, West Indies Australia, Pakistan & South Africa.
