Cricket Career
Bumrah represents Gujarat in the domestic circuit. In 58 first class matches, Bumrah has 220 wickets to his name. In an interview with Indian keeper-batter Dinesh Karthik on Sky Sports, Jasprit recalls being scouted by John Wright, who was working with MI. Wright attended a domestic fixture of Gujarat to watch out for MI’s signing Akshar Patel. Surprisingly, Wright attended another match, this time to keep an eye on Bumrah. Soon, Jasprit Bumrah received a call from Mumbai Indians and joined the side for Pepsi IPL 2013. He impressed everyone on his debut as he picked up a three wicket haul. Bumrah’s first 3 IPL seasons weren’t up to the mark as he lacked opportunities.

2016 turned out to be in Bumrah’s favour. Bumrah played his maiden ODI against Australia on 23th January. 3 days later, Bumrah was handed his maiden T20I cap too. He was impressive on both occasions. Bumrah had a huge responsibility on his shoulders in IPL 2016 as Malinga was ruled out. He played all league stage matches in the Vivo IPL 2016 and finished with 15 wickets.
Bumrah played his first ever Asia Cup in 2016. He was surprisingly impressive with 6 wickets in 5 matches, with an economy of only 5.16.
India was knocked out by West Indies in the semi-finals of ICC T20 World Cup 2016. Bumrah had only 4 wickets before that match. He was smacked for 42 runs at his IPL home venue, Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The ICC Champions Trophy 2017 Final was a match to forget for the pacer. Bumrah scalped a wicket off no-ball and everyone paid the price for it.

Bumrah featured in another edition of Asia Cup in 2018. In 4 matches, Bumrah grabbed 8 wickets with an astonishing economy of 3.67 only.
Jasprit Bumrah played his maiden Test in 2018 against the Proteas. He picked up a five wicket haul and went on to do the same against Australia and England in the same calendar year.
