Born in Bridgetown, Barbados on 8th September 1992, this West Endian all-rounder is the son of Shirley Clarke who also played first-class cricket. Kyle Mayers who is famous for his lofted backfoot punch had a tough early life, his mother passed away when he was just 11 years old and a few years later his father passed away too. Kyle Mayers, son of Shirley Clarke also played first-class cricket in his time. Kyle Mayers mother passed away at a very young age and his father passed away after a few years.

Cricket Life
Kyle was selected for the Barbados squad in October 2019 to play in the 2019-20 regional super50 tournament. On the opening day of the West Indies Championship, Kyle scored his maiden century in first-class cricket in Jan 2020. The Barbadian got his breakthrough when he was selected as one of the reserve players in the west indies test squad against England in England which was postponed to July 2020 due to Covid 19 outbreak. Kyle Mayers was named in the 2020 squad of Barbados Royals. Later on, he was selected for the national side in October 2020 for the series against Blackcaps. He made his T20I debut on 29th November 2020 against New Zealand. He scored 20 odd runs of 14 balls which included 2 sixes while batting at no.4. He also bowled 1 over with the new ball and conceded 10 runs. However, the Windies lost the match by a huge difference of 72 runs. The highlight of the match was Glenn Phillips 108 runs from 51 deliveries.
Later in the same year, he was selected in the ODI and the Test squad for West Indies for the series against Bangladesh.
He debut in the ODI against Bangladesh on 20th January 2021 in Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. Mayers was the highest run scorer of his team. In a low-scoring encounter batting at no.5, he scored 40 runs off 56 balls including 4 boundaries and a six. He got out on Mehidy Hasan’s delivery. However, West Indies lost by 6 wickets on this occasion too. On 3rd February 2021, he made his test debut in Zahur Ahmad Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram, that too against Bangladesh. In the first innings Mayers played a good knock of 40 runs of 65 balls including 7 fours but soon got plumbed in front of the wicket in Mehidy’s bowling.
In the 2nd innings, while chasing a mammoth total of 395, The mighty West Endian announced his arrival at the International level when he scored a match-winning and a record 210 runs (not out) of 310 deliveries including 20 boundaries and 7 sixes. He was declared the player of the match.

Kyle Mayers was later acquired by the Lucknow Supergiants franchise for 50lac rs in the 2022 IPL mega auction. However, he didn’t get a chance to play the previous season and debut in the 2023 edition of the world’s grandest cricket league.
