Mohammed Shami was born on 3 September 1990 in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, India. He was one of five brothers in the family. His father was a farmer and also a fast bowler in his time. The family grew up in the Sahasapur village of Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. He was trained under Badruddin Siddique – a cricket coach in Moradabad.
He trained very hard and asked for the used balls after the match to develop the reverse swing skill. Debut: Shami was named in the ODI squad for the series against arch-rivals Pakistan. He made his debut on 6th January 2013 against Pakistan in Delhi.
